Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 until Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a small neighborhood located on the West Island, which is an island in Montreal. People who don't understand they mistakenly believe it is the West Island extends westward from Montreal. Actually it is the West Island includes everything westward from that city Lachine. The West Island is frequently referred to as the location of birth of Amanda Brugel but while that is the case, her time there was not long. Brugel was an aspiring young lady in Courtice Ontario, outside Oshawa. Early ambitions were to become an expert dancer. But, a growing spurt caused her to outgrow every dance partner she was able to have. The Toronto Star article revealed she's 6ft 1in tall in heels. As I got bigger than my male partners, I quit. Many ex-dancers switch to acting. In the case of Brugel, it was the encouragement from her drama teacher at high school that led her in the direction she required. The teacher suggested she try to get a role for school's annual production. She was able to audition and be cast in the role of Anne of Green Gables. A Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she studied Theatre and received the Bachelors in Fine Arts in the year 2000. In the last 20 years, the roles played by Brugel in the world of television and on the screen have been numerous. The character of Rita in the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale was her most famous. Brugel, the only Canadian of the Season 1 actors of the series as well as appearing only on occasion, was the only Canadian.
