Bernadette (born Bernadette lazzara(born 28 February 1948) Peters is an American musician, singer and the author of children's literature in the series Ozone Park Queens New York. Through her career, which spans more than five decades, she has appeared in musical theatre film and on television, as well as performing on her own and in recordings. She has received seven Tony Awards nominations, two of which she won along with 8 Drama Desk Awards. Grammy Awards went to four Broadway Cast Albums where she starred. Peters started her acting career on stage in 1960s as a teenager, and later in the 1970s, she worked in TV as well as film. Early performances, including appearances on The Muppet Show The Carol Burnett Show as well as for other television shows and films were praised. The actress also won praise for the roles she played in films like Silent Movie The Jerk Pennies from Heaven or Annie. The 1980s saw her return to the theatre and became one of the best-known Broadway actors over the next three years. She's also released six solos albums, as well as a number of singles, along with casting albums. She also performs regularly as a solo performer. Peters is also a regular performer in films and on television where she has been nominated for three Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards being awarded once.
